Covid 19 — Can You Still File a Family Law Case?

Boyd Family Law Dec. 30, 2021

Yes.

Despite the school, restaurant and other closings, our firm is OPEN.

Until we are told otherwise, I am still willing to meet in person with new clients in our office. If the county or State closes our physical location, I will still be conducting meetings by Email, Skype, FaceTime, Phone, Zoom, etc. So please contact me if you have questions or need assistance.

While most courts remain closed in general, there are exceptions and some court business is still being conducted. The courts remain open to consider emergency motions, Temporary Restraining Orders, etc. filed electronically.

Also, we are able to finalize agreed orders by E Filing them for submission and the courts are excusing personal appearances at this time.

We are still able to file new family law matters by E Filing. So if you find yourself in need of filing to modify a prior order, seek a marriage dissolution, ask for a step-parent adoption, we are able to file those for you.

Thanks!
